25.9 à 26.21 Cette seconde scène, où domine l'idée du salut (voir la note d'introduction aux chapitres 24 à 27), s'ouvre par un court tableau du jugement du monde, représenté ici par Moab (versets 9 à 12). A ce tableau, qui correspond à la description du jugement universel dans la première partie (chapitre 24), succède un cantique où les élus louent la justice des voies de Dieu (chapitre 26). Ce cantique est le pendant du chant de louange 25.1-5 dans la première partie ; il se termine par la prophétie de la résurrection des morts, qui forme le point culminant du salut ; cette perspective suprême dépasse ce qui avait été promis dans le tableau 25.6-8 : là il s'agissait simplement de la cessation de la mort ; ici est promis le retour à la vie de ceux qui déjà sont morts. Il y a donc dans la seconde scène progrès sur la première.

9 à 12 L'Eternel couvre Sion de sa protection, tandis que les ennemis d'Israël sont humiliés.

Ceux qui ont recherché leur Rédempteur, Le reconnaîtront dans la joie et la louange ; les saints glorifiés chanteront un cantique de triomphe et entreront dans la joie de leur Seigneur. Il n'est pas vain de L'attendre ; car Sa Miséricorde sera manifestée à tous, et les nombreuses récompenses qu'Il a promises seront enfin distribuées !

Les mains du Seigneur, qui étaient par le passé, clouées sur la croix, pour notre salut, seront alors déployées pour détruire les pécheurs impénitents.

Moab est représenté ici comme l'ensemble des adversaires du peuple de Dieu ; ces derniers seront foulés aux pieds et battus.

Dieu réduira l'arrogance de Ses ennemis, par une succession de Jugements humiliants. Cette destruction de Moab est une image typique de la Victoire de Christ, et de l'abaissement des positions fortes de Satan.

Par conséquent, bien-aimé frère, reste inébranlable et intègre, travaillant toujours abondamment pour le Seigneur ; ce genre de travail n'est jamais vain !
