World English Bible Now therefore don't be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, on the whole earth.

22 à 29 A ces menaces terribles succèdent les plus tendres encouragements : Dieu châtie son peuple, mais comme le laboureur cultive la terre, avec sagesse et mesure, non pour détruire, mais pour purifier et féconder. C'est à la fois un appel aux méchants : Convertissez-vous au lieu de vous moquer ; et une consolation pour les justes : Il ne vous foulera pas à toujours !
