44.24 à 45.25 Cyrus, l'oint de l'Eternel, le libérateur d'Israël.

La prophétie se précise ici davantage, le libérateur promis est enfin désigné par son nom. Ce nouveau discours se compose de quatre parties :

  1. L'Eternel accomplira ses promesses ; Cyrus rebâtira sa ville et son temple, versets 24 à 28.
  2. Dieu déclare à Cyrus que s'il remporte des victoires, il les doit à l'Eternel, qui veut que son nom soit glorifié dans toute la terre, 45.1-8.
  3. Il exhorte Israël à la confiance et lui promet le plus glorieux avenir, versets 9 à 17.
  4. Il invite les païens à regarder au seul vrai Dieu pour être sauvés, versets 18 à 25.

Le but des voies de Dieu, dans l'envoi de Cyrus, est donc celui-ci : tous, Israël, les païens, Cyrus lui-même, doivent parvenir au salut par la connaissance du Dieu unique et véritable.

24 à 28 L'Eternel accomplit ses promesses par l'envoi de Cyrus.

Comparez le verset 24 avec le début tout pareil du précédent discours (verset 6).

La toute-puissance de Dieu est la garantie de l'accomplissement de ses promesses (40.12 et suivants).

Déployé les cieux : comme une tente (40.22).
