Nous devons dans l'Ancien Testament, rechercher le plein accomplissement des évènements prophétiques, relatifs à l'église. Les nations et leurs rois se mettront à disposition de cette dernière. Le Seigneur accomplira Son œuvre, Il mettra à disposition Son Salut et Sa Rédemption. Toutes choses seront changées, pour le meilleur ! Il n'y aura plus sur terre de menaces proférées par les provocateurs, ni plaintes de ceux qui souffrent de violences subies. Les murs de ce royaume seront inébranlables, sur les portes seront écrites les louanges à Dieu.

La fin de ce chapitre traduit des images et des expressions utilisées dans la description de la nouvelle Jérusalem, Apocalypse 21:23;22:5. Rien ne peut mieux répondre à ce « portrait dressé » que le futur état glorieux de l'église ici-bas, ou de celle triomphante, dans les cieux.

Ceux qui considèrent Dieu comme leur unique source de Lumière, pourront en disposer en toute suffisance. Leur félicité sera immuable, inaltérable. Personne ici-bas n'est juste ; par contre, dans le ciel, on ne trouvera qu'une seule catégorie d'âmes : les justifiées ! Les hommes seront rendus parfaits. La gloire de l'église sera à l'honneur de Dieu. Quand elle sera complète, elle apparaîtra comme une œuvre merveilleuse ! Il peut sembler difficile d'en faire partie, mais le Dieu Tout-Puissant a préparé le chemin. On peut craindre que ce dernier soit étroit et dissuasif, mais le Seigneur l'aplanira, au temps marqué, selon Sa Sagesse, et non selon notre folie.

Que cette espérance puisse nous encourager dans toutes nos difficultés, soyons zélés, afin d'être abondamment enrichis spirituellement, lors de notre entrée dans le Royaume éternel de notre Seigneur et Sauveur Jésus-Christ !
