Mes sabbats, pour servir de signe. Le sabbat alimentait le souvenir de la création et par conséquent la révélation de l'Eternel comme Dieu unique et distinct du monde.

Pour qu'ils connussent... Le sabbat remettait tous les sept jours Israël en présence du Jéhova auquel il devait s'unir dans un recueillement solennel, afin de se préparer ainsi au repos éternel du peuple de Dieu.
