World English Bible Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head from off you, and will hang you on a tree; and the birds will eat your flesh from off you."

Enlèvera. C'est en hébreu le même, verbe que celui que nous avons traduit par élèvera au verset 13. Joseph annonce au panetier qu'il sera décapité, puis que son corps sera pendu à un gibet et dévoré par les oiseaux de proie. C'était pour les Egyptiens une terrible aggravation de la peine de mort, car ils estimaient que l'âme d'un mort dont le corps demeurait sans sépulture était condamnée à errer éternellement.
