Conclusion pratique des affirmations qui précèdent : c'est pourquoi, parce que nous avons un royaume inébranlable, comme il ressort, indirectement, de ce qui vient d'être dit ; (Hébreux 12.27) parce que ce royaume existe et que nous pouvons déjà le recevoir, le posséder. Ce royaume n'en était encore qu'à ses commencements sur la terre lorsque l'auteur parlait ainsi mais la foi rend l'avenir présent et voit l'invisible.

Sin. porte : "nous avons de la reconnaissance," et "nous rendons un culte." Le subjonctif qui se lit dans la plupart des documents est plus conforme à l'exhortation.

Le mot de reconnaissance est le même, en grec, que l'on traduit habituellement par grâce.

Aussi plusieurs anciens interprètes ont-ils admis la version aujourd'hui rejetée par tous : "retenons la grâce." Ce qui condamne cette traduction, c'est que le verbe avoir ne signifie pas retenir et que l'article manque devant le mot grâce ou reconnaissance.
