Toute souffrance et toute joie dans la vie du chrétien doivent se transformer en prière et en cantique.

Toutes les émotions profondes de son cœur sont pour lui un danger, peuvent devenir dans les mains de l'ennemi un moyen de le faire tomber : la prière et les chants de louange sont ses armes contre lui. (Comparer Ephésiens 5.19)
