Des pasteurs : tous les hommes de Dieu qui, depuis le retour de la captivité, ont concouru à la restauration du peuple de Dieu, par exemple : Zorobabel et Néhémie. Mais le regard du prophète porte plus haut et plus loin ; au milieu de cette pluralité d'individus, son regard cherche le personnage unique qui achèvera ce que tous ses précurseurs, et David lui-même, n'avaient fait que commencer.
