Nous avons ici la double raison du désastre de Babel : la délivrance du peuple d'Israël que son Epoux divin n'a point répudié à toujours (comparez 31.32 ; Esaïe 50.1 ; 54.4-6) et la mesure maintenant comble de l'iniquité de Babel.

Leur pays : celui des Chaldéens.
