World English Bible So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.

Il ne faut pas citer ici 1Samuel 31.13 ou Genèse 50.10 et voir dans ces sept jours de silence un signe de deuil. Ils ne trouvent rien à dire, parce que la réalité dépasse de beaucoup leur attente. Ce silence se prolongeant sept jours et sept nuits devient pour Job une nouvelle tentation ajoutée aux précédentes.

Sa douleur, littéralement : la douleur. C'était un cas terrible.
