On trouve deux sortes de sagesse : l'une cachée et secrète, détenue par Dieu, qu'il ne nous appartient pas de connaître ; l'autre, celle qui est divinement révélée à l'homme.

Les évènements journaliers et les affaires des hommes sont étroitement liés à la position de ces derniers vis-à-vis de cette sagesse, le tout sous le Regard de Dieu, Celui qui voit tout et qui juge avec droiture. La recherche de la volonté divine ne peut nous faire que du bien. Que l'homme puisse rechercher cette Sagesse et cette crainte du Seigneur, tout en s'éloignant du mal ! Cette recherche lui sera pleinement bénéfique. Où peut-on trouver cette Sagesse ? Ses trésors sont cachés en Christ, révélés par la Parole, reçus par la foi, par le biais du Saint Esprit. La Sagesse ne se nourrit ni d'orgueil ni de vanité, elle n'est pas destinée à nous distraire ou à satisfaire notre curiosité. Elle enseigne et encourage les pécheurs à craindre le Seigneur et à s'éloigner du mal, avec foi et repentance. Elle enseigne aux hommes de ne pas chercher à résoudre eux-mêmes, toutes les difficultés qu'ils rencontrent ici-bas.
