Lévitique 27.28

« De plus, quand quelqu’un consacre pour toujours au SEIGNEUR une personne, un animal, ou un champ reçu en héritage, on ne peut pas le vendre ni le racheter. Tout ce qui est consacré pour toujours au SEIGNEUR devient sacré. Cela lui appartient totalement.
Tout ce qu'un homme dévouera par interdit à l'Éternel, dans ce qui lui appartient, ne pourra ni se vendre, ni se racheter, que ce soit une personne, un animal, ou un champ de sa propriété ; tout ce qui sera dévoué par interdit sera entièrement consacré à l'Éternel.

Seulement, aucune chose vouée que quelqu'un aura vouée à l'Éternel, de tout ce qu'il a, soit homme, ou bête, ou champ de sa possession, ne se vendra ni ne se rachètera : toute chose vouée sera très-sainte, consacrée à l'Éternel.

World English Bible "'Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to Yahweh of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to Yahweh.

Est voué par interdit (chérem). Ce vœu se distingue des précédents en ce que l'être qui en est l'objet ne peut être racheté et doit être sacrifié, détruit, en l'honneur de l'Eternel. Ainsi en entrant en Canaan les Israélites avaient, par l'ordre de l'Eternel, fait vœu d'anéantir le butin pris à Jéricho, comme une espèce de prémices à offrir à l'Eternel ; et pour avoir violé ce vœu, Achan devint lui-même interdit et périt comme tel (Josué 7.1-24). Ainsi aussi du butin des Amalékites (1Samuel 15.3).

      43 Then Saul said to Jonathan, "Tell me what you have done!" Jonathan told him, and said, "I certainly did taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand; and behold, I must die."
      44 Saul said, "God do so and more also; for you shall surely die, Jonathan."
      45 The people said to Saul, "Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? Far from it! As Yahweh lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has worked with God this day!" So the people rescued Jonathan, that he didn't die.
