Quelle rĂ©vĂ©lation de ce qui se passait dans le cƓur des adversaires, auditeurs de JĂ©sus ! Leur but principal, en mettant Ă  mort le Messie envoyĂ© de Dieu, Ă©tait prĂ©cisĂ©ment de rester en possession de la thĂ©ocratie, des avantages, de l'influence, des honneurs qu'elle leur donnait et qu'ils craignaient de perdre.

Dans tous les temps, les ennemis du Sauveur ont le sentiment plus ou moins conscient qu'en se dĂ©barrassant de lui, de sa vĂ©ritĂ©, de son autoritĂ©, ils resteront en possession d'eux-mĂȘmes, de leurs intĂ©rĂȘts terrestres, et de leur orgueilleuse indĂ©pendance vis-Ă -vis de Dieu.
