C'est la troisiÚme fois que Jésus prédit à ses disciples ses souffrances. (Matthieu 16.21 ; 17.22,23) Plus le moment solennel approche, plus il devient explicite dans les détails de cette prédiction : les auteurs de ses souffrances, sa condamnation à la mort, la double trahison dont il sera l'objet, les tortures, la croix, tout est devant ses yeux, et dÚs lors sa passion a moralement commencé. (Comparer Marc 10.34, note.)

Mais il voit un soleil glorieux se lever sur ces ténÚbres ; le troisiÚme jour il ressuscitera. (Comparer sur ce dernier trait de la prédiction Matthieu 16.21, seconde note.)

Les trois premiers évangélistes consignent ici avec un parfait accord ces mémorables communications de leur Maßtre. (Marc 10.32 et suivants ; Luc 18.31 et suivants)
