Un proverbe, une complainte. Leurs ennemis (ils s'en sont fait beaucoup) se moqueront d'eux au jour de leur infortune (Habakuk 2.6), et eux-mêmes gémiront sur leur malheur.

C'en est fait : comparez Apocalypse 16.17.

Il aliène... Le sujet est Jéhova, qu'ils ne nomment pas, parce qu'ils sont irrités contre lui. Mais ils ne s'y trompent pas et l'accusent d'être l'auteur de leur ruine (au lieu de s'en accuser eux-mêmes).

La part de mon peuple : le pays de Canaan, assuré à Israël, et qui n'aurait jamais du passer à d'autres. La loi du talion se réalise à leur égard : ils ont pris l'héritage des autres ; le leur leur est enlevé.

Aux infidèles (littéralement : à l'infidèle) : à l'ennemi païen, qu'ils méprisent comme rebelle au vrai Dieu. Jérémie 49.4, emploie le même terme en parlant d'Ammon.
