Michée rappelle le sort qui doit auparavant frapper la terre d'Israël (comparez Lévitique 26.33). Il le fait afin que nul ne se méprenne sur le sens et les conditions des promesses qu'il vient de développer. La gloire de la Sion de l'avenir a beau être assurée ; le jugement de la Sion actuelle n'en est pas moins irrévocable.

      33 I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.
      34 Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies' land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
