World English Bible Don't rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, Yahweh will be a light to me.

Le prophète, se transportant au moment où le châtiment est déjà réalisé, fait, parler Sion elle-même du sein de cette situation.

L'ennemie de Sion, c'est Babel (4.10). Elle ne doit point se réjouir de la chute de Sion, car celle-ci n'est tombée (n'a perdu sa puissance) que pour se relever.

Assise dans les ténèbres : l'obscurité est l'image de la misère et des souffrances du peuple exilé (comparez Esaïe 8.20-9.1 ; 42.7).

L'Eternel est ma lumière : ma consolation, par ses promesses, qu'il ne renie pas, alors même qu'il châtie. Comparez Psaumes 27.1-3.

Ceux qui se repentent sincèrement de leurs péchés connaîtront l'importance d'être patients durant l'affliction.

Lorsque nous nous plaignons au Seigneur, des temps difficiles, nous devons en fait Lui confesser la dureté et la méchanceté de notre cœur. Nous devons compter sur Dieu pour amener toute délivrance nécessaire, en temps voulu. Nous ne devons pas seulement compter sur Lui, mais également Le rechercher. Dans nos plus grandes détresses, si nous nous tournions, par la foi, vers le Dieu de notre salut, nous ne devrions avoir alors aucune raison de désespérer. Bien que nos ennemis triomphent et nous insultent souvent, ils seront réduits au silence et à l’ignominie.

Bien que les murs de Sion soient en ruines, le jour allait venir où ils allaient être reconstruits. Les enfants d’Israël reviendront de tous les pays lointains, motivés et armés de courage.

Bien que nos ennemis semblent nous dominer et se réjouir de notre souffrance, nous ne devons pas « baisser les bras. ». Bien que nous puissions parfois connaître le découragement, nous ne sommes pas anéantis et plaçons notre espérance, en toute soumission, dans la Miséricorde divine

Aucun obstacle ne peut empêcher l’accomplissement des bénédictions que le Seigneur destine à son église !
