Ne te vante pas devant le roi, et ne prends pas la place des grands.
Ne fais pas l’important devant le roi, et ne te mets pas à la place des grands.
Don't exalt yourself in the presence of the king, or claim a place among great men;

6 et 7 Comparez Luc 14.7-11. Si l'on usurpe devant le roi une place qui revient à d'autres, plus élevés en dignité, on s'expose à de durs froissements d'amour-propre. N'avait-on donc pas vu ces grands (18.16) et ne les savait-on pas présents ?
