Mais qui me manque. Le verbe employé ici (chata) a pour sens premier celui de manquer un but (Juges 20.16). Il en est venu à désigner le fait de pécher, de s'écarter du but proposé à l'homme par Dieu. Celui qui passe à côté de la sagesse sans l'atteindre, sans l'acquérir, se condamne lui-même par sa propre faute à la ruine, car sagesse et vie sont une seule et même chose (3.18).
