24 à 27 Refus d'entrer en Canaan.

Dieu n'a pas détruit son peuple, après le culte du veau d'or. Israël se punit lui-même par un nouveau péché, lorsque, refusant d'entrer en Canaan, il se condamne à périr au désert (Nombres 14.1 et suivants).

Ils méprisèrent la terre de délices, ou : la terre désirable (Jérémie 3.19 ; Zacharie 7.14). C'est mépriser un don de Dieu que de reculer devant l'effort de foi nécessaire pour en prendre possession.
