Ceux qui sèment avec larmes... Cette vérité, exposée sous forme de sentence ou de proverbe, est développée au verset 6 en un gracieux tableau. Les semailles sont toujours, pour le laboureur, une perte momentanée, particulièrement grave dans les années de disette : il s'agit d'exposer le peu qui reste, au risque de le perdre définitivement. Ainsi le règne de Dieu n'avance que par de coûteuses semailles ; mais, plus il en coûte de jeter la semence, plus sera grand le triomphe de la moisson. Comparez Galates 6.9.
