Ceux qui se tournent vers la véritable sagesse doivent prier pour connaître la volonté divine et implorer le Saint-Esprit qu'il les éclaire ; ils en retireront en retour tout le réconfort et la joie qui proviennent de l'approbation divine. Ils prient pour obtenir la miséricorde divine car ils prétendent ne rien mériter de par eux-mêmes.

Les faveurs de l'Éternel doivent être une fontaine jaillissante de joies futures. Elles apaiseront notre tristesse et notre chagrin. Que la Grâce divine produise en nous la lumière qui découle des bonnes ouvres, que les consolations divines placent la joie, dans notre cœur et sur notre visage. « Établis sur nous l'œuvre de nos mains ; affermis-nous dans tout cela ». Au lieu de gaspiller nos précieux jours à la poursuite de fantaisies, qui finissent d'ailleurs toujours dans un sentiment de tristesse, recherchons plutôt le pardon des péchés et l'héritage des cieux. Prions pour que l'œuvre du Saint-Esprit se manifeste dans la conversion de notre cœur et que la beauté de la sainteté puisse se discerner dans notre conduite !
