Réjouis-nous à proportion... Que le bonheur futur de ton peuple égale et fasse oublier ses maux actuels. C'est ici une allusion bien claire à une période déjà longue de misère exceptionnelle qui se distingue clairement des maux ordinaires inhérents à l'existence terrestre.

Des jours... Le pluriel jemôth (jours), au lieu de jemé, de même que schenôth (années),au lieu de schené, est inusité. Il est même remarquable que ces deux formes ne se retrouvent dans tout l'Ancien Testament que dans le cantique de Moïse, Deutéronome 32.7-16.

Que ton œuvre apparaisse... Les plans de Dieu à l'égard d'Israël étaient voilés, pendant ce long séjour au désert, son œuvre commencée restait inachevée. Que la gloire divine, dont l'éclat est comme intercepté, resplendisse Sur une nouvelle génération !
