2 à 4 Avant tout le psalmiste développe l'idée même de refuge, qui vient d'être indiquée.

Je dis... L'emploi exceptionnel de la première personne, ici comme au verset 9, dans un psaume ou partout ailleurs, nous trouvons le tu, mis dans la bouche du psalmiste, ou le il, mis dans la bouche de Dieu (tu trouveras..., tu regarderas..., il m'invoquera...), a fait supposer que divers chœurs se succédaient dans ce cantique. Il est plus naturel de voir ici un élan de foi et comme un cri filial par lequel le psalmiste s'affirme à lui-même toute la confiance qu'il éprouve pour son Dieu, après quoi il entend en son cœur la réponse divine.
