World English Bible But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

L'apôtre présente la doctrine de la résurrection dans un rapport intime et vivant avec le renouvellement spirituel qui s'opère dès ici-bas dans le croyant. Jésus lui-même a été "déclaré Fils de Dieu avec puissance selon l'Esprit de sainteté par sa résurrection d'entre les morts." (Romains 1.4, comparez 1Pierre 3.18 ; 1Timothée 3.16).

Cet Esprit de sainteté et de vie, qui était en lui, a vaincu la mort, salaire du péché. Il n'était pas possible que le Saint fût retenu par elle. (Actes 2.24)

Or ceux qui lui sont unis par une foi vivante, sont faits participants du même Esprit, de l'Esprit de celui qui a ressuscité Jésus d'entre les morts, et ils possèdent ainsi le gage assuré d'une résurrection semblable, bien plus, ils ont déjà la vie qui triomphera même de la mort du corps, quand le Créateur tout-puissant donnera à cette vie son plein développement, quand il vivifiera vos corps mortels.

Telle est la source de la résurrection d'entre les morts. (1Corinthiens 6.13,14 ; 2Corinthiens 4.14 ; comparez Jean 5.21-29 ; 6.54)
