Suivez la gloire ! Bien des fois, dans l'Exode, il est parlé de la gloire de l'Eternel, apparaissant dans la nuée. Zacharie invite les Israélites à suivre la manifestation de l'Eternel qui les conduit en ce moment à Jérusalem, comme leurs pÚres suivaient, au désert, la nuée dans laquelle Dieu apparaissait. Il vient de leur promettre que ce serait dans cette ville que se fixerait la présence glorieuse de leur Dieu (verset 5). Cette parole est donc comme le mot d'ordre que Dieu donne à la portion de son peuple encore captive.

Il m'a envoyé : pour chùtier les ennemis qui vous ont tant fait souffrir.

Mais quel est le personnage qui parle ainsi ? Ce ne peut ĂȘtre l'ange interprĂšte, qui a une mission particuliĂšre auprĂšs du prophĂšte ; ce ne peut ĂȘtre un ange quelconque, comme celui du verset 3, qui a Ă©tĂ© envoyĂ© vers l'homme au cordeau. Cette parole du verset 9 : Je vais brandir ma main sur les nations..., et celle-ci : Vous saurez que l'Eternel des armĂ©es m'a envoyĂ©, ne peuvent ĂȘtre prononcĂ©es que par l'ange de l'Eternel, parlant soit directement, depuis le verset 6 (Holà ! fuyez...), soit indirectement par la bouche de l'ange interprĂšte, dĂšs le verset 4.

La prunelle de son Ɠil : ce que l'homme a de plus prĂ©cieux (DeutĂ©ronome 32.0 ; Psaumes 17.8). Sens : Celui qui porte la main sur le peuple Ă©lu de l'Eternel se fait du mal Ă  lui-mĂȘme.
