1 Chroniques 17.1

Le roi David s’installe dans son palais. Un jour, le roi dit au prophète Natan : « Tu vois, moi, j’habite une maison en bois de cèdre. Mais le coffre de l’alliance est sous une tente de toile. »

- Ce chapitre décrit les mêmes événements que 2Samuel 7:1-29. On peut lire ce passage, pour avoir quelques informations supplémentaires. Il est vraiment remarquable de noter ce qui est écrit dans Samuel : « C'est à cause de ta parole, et selon ton cœur, que tu as fait toute cette grande chose », par rapport au texte des Chroniques, qui mentionne : « Ô Éternel ! Tu as fait toute cette grande chose à cause de ton serviteur », au verset 2 Samuel 17:19. Jésus-Christ est à la fois la Parole de Dieu, Apocalypse 19:13, et le Serviteur de Dieu, Isa 42:1 ; c'est par Lui, le Médiateur, que les Promesses divines peuvent s'appliquer à tous les croyants ; « en lui est le oui et en lui l'amen », 2Corinthiens 1:20*. Jésus a tout accompli ; nous devons Le glorifier dans toute Sa Grandeur, et nous pouvons nous attendre à l'accomplissement de toutes Ses grandes Promesses. Ces dernières contribuent en fait à manifester Ses richesses incommensurables, que nous pouvons discerner par la foi. Forts de ces pensées, nous ne pouvons que témoigner de Cette grandeur et ainsi Lui rendre Gloire.

Grâce aux bénédictions octroyées par le Seigneur, nous sommes en mesure de braver les épreuves de la vie, surtout quand nous sentons la mort rôder autour de nous. Sachons également rechercher cette sécurité, pour nos enfants !
