2 Chroniques 16.14

They buried him in his own tombs, which he had dug out for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers' art: and they made a very great burning for him.

L'on [en] brûla. Le corps d'Asa ne fut pas brûlé, mais l'auteur fait remarquer qu'on brûla autour de son cadavre une quantité extraordinaire d'aromates. Nous voyons par 21.19 que l'habitude était de faire des encensements de ce genre lors des funérailles des rois.
