2 Chroniques 28.23

et il sacrifia aux dieux de Damas qui l'avaient frappé, et il dit : Puisque les dieux des rois de Syrie leur sont en aide, le leur sacrifierai, et ils me seront en aide. Et ils furent sa ruine et celle de tout Israël.

Le fait ici raconté se place chronologiquement après le début du verset 5. L'épisode de l'autel de Damas est tout différent et eut lieu beaucoup plus tard. Comparez la note de 2Rois 16.10.
