La séduction de l'injustice a prise sur ceux qui périssent dans leur endurcissement, sur eux seuls, et la raison en est qu'ils n'ont pas reçu (accepté) l'amour de la vérité pour être sauvés.

La vérité divine sauve ceux qui l'aiment, comme le mensonge perd ceux qui s'y adonnent, parce que l'un et l'autre de ces attachements constitue tout un état d'âme. (verset 12)

L'amour de la vérité, cet état d'âme qui nous dispose à l'accueillir, ne nous est pas naturel ; nous devons le recevoir de Dieu qui crée en nous un cœur nouveau. (2Corinthiens 3.14,15 ; Ephésiens 3.16-19)
