Dieu accorda aux quatre jeunes gens du discernement et de vastes connaissances dans les domaines de la langue et de la sagesse. Daniel était capable en outre de comprendre le sens des visions et des rêves.

World English Bible Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

L'étude que Daniel fit de la science chaldéenne contribua peut-être à développer chez lui le sens prophétique et à le familiariser avec ce mystérieux domaine.

Daniel et ses camarades sont restés fidèles à leur religion ; Dieu les a récompensés pour ce respect vigilant.

Les jeunes qui sont en Jésus-Christ devraient essayer de rester fidèles à leur engagement spirituel, par rapport à leurs camarades « du monde », qui ne se consacrent qu'aux choses matérielles ; la recherche de cette intégrité ne conduit pas à l'éloge de l'homme, mais à l'honneur de l'évangile, afin que le serviteur de Dieu soit qualifié pour le service spirituel. Il est bon pour une nation et pour l'honneur de son dirigeant, de pouvoir discerner qui serait le mieux adapté à servir le pays.

Que les jeunes hommes puissent envisager sérieusement cette éventualité ! Rappelons-nous que Dieu honorera ceux qui l'honorent et qu'Il aura beaucoup moins de considération pour ceux qui Le dédaignent.
