De mauvaises nouvelles venues de l'orient et du nord l'obligèrent à s'en retourner. Il s'agit de la révolte de deux peuples tributaires : les Parthes, à l'orient, et les Arméniens, au nord (Tacite, Histoires V, 8).

Pour détruire. Porphyre rapporte qu'Antiochus, en sortant d'Egypte, prit Arad et ravagea toute la côte de Phénicie.
