Ne m'ont fait aucun mal. Littéralement : ne m'ont aucunement lésé... parce que je n'avais aucunement lésé, (fin du verset). Daniel n'a pas péché contre l'esprit, mais seulement contre la lettre de l'édit, et le roi sait reconnaßtre qu'il a agi comme il l'a fait, non par insubordination envers lui, mais par fidélité à Dieu.
