Esaïe 40.1-24

Les « bonnes nouvelles » du Royaume de Christ. (Esaïe 52:1-12)
L'humiliation du Messie. (Esaïe 52:13-15)

L'évangile promet la liberté à ceux qui craignent Dieu. Que ceux qui sont las et lourdement chargés, sous le fardeau du péché, puissent trouver tout soulagement en Christ, abandonnant leurs doutes et leurs craintes, et se détournant ainsi de la mauvaise voie qu'ils pratiquaient. Le prix payé pour notre salut, par le Rédempteur, ne l'a pas été avec de l'argent ou de l'or, ni par des valeurs corruptibles, mais avec Son propre sang, précieux. Quand on considère vraiment la gratuité de ce salut, face à l'horreur du péché, on ne peut qu'être impressionné par la valeur du rachat que Christ a effectué.

Cherchons-nous à vraiment remporter la victoire sur chacun de nos péchés, nous rappelant que la Gloire de Dieu exige la sainteté en chaque disciple de Christ ? Cette « bonne nouvelle » réside dans le fait que le Seigneur Jésus règne !

Christ, lui-même, a annoncé premièrement l'évangile. Ses disciples proclamèrent ensuite la même chose : « Qu'ils sont beaux sur les montagnes les pieds de celui qui apporte de bonnes nouvelles ».

Les sentinelles de Sion avaient de la peine à discerner les privilèges de la Grâce divine, au travers des « sombres nuages » de leurs afflictions ; mais maintenant cette nébulosité est dissipée, tous peuvent voir pleinement s'accomplir ces promesses ! Même les ruines de Jérusalem se réjouiront alors ! Tout le monde pourra tirer les bénéfices de cet évangile. Ceci s'applique également à notre salut, en Christ. Babylone n'était pas un endroit où les Israélites pouvaient séjourner.

C'est aussi un appel à tous, pour sortir de la servitude du péché et de Satan, pour bénéficier ensuite de la liberté annoncée par Christ !

Les enfants d'Israël devaient avoir hâte de sortir de Babylone, sans perdre de temps ni s'attarder ; il leur était cependant recommandé de ne pas partir avec précipitation, tels des fugitifs.

Ceux qui se consacrent à leur devoir, sont sous la protection particulière de Dieu ; s'ils en sont fermement convaincus, ils ne seront sujets à aucune crainte !
