Alors j’ai parlé de déverser ma fureur sur eux dans le désert pour les exterminer,

Très souvent, ils ont traité le jour du sabbat avec mépris. De nouveau, j’ai eu l’intention de répandre sur eux ma violente colère et de les faire mourir.

Se rebella. Nous avons déjà cité les principales preuves de cette conduite d'Israël au désert (Exode 32.1-35 ; Amos 5.25-26). Comparez aussi Nombres 14.1 et suivants, (passage auquel les mots suivants et le verset 15 font plus distinctement allusion) et Psaumes 106.7. Pour la violation du sabbat, on peut citer comme exemples particuliers : Exode 16.27 ; Nombres 15.32.
