World English Bible He said, "Don't lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me."

Et l'ange dit. Dieu est satisfait, car il n'est pas un Moloch ou un Baal. La consommation du sacrifice, c'est pour lui-même qu'il la réserve.

Maintenant je sais. L'acte d'Abraham vient de prouver qu'il n'y a rien qu'il ne soit capable de donner à son Dieu.

Tu ne m'as pas refusé. L'ange de l'Eternel parle comme étant l'Eternel lui-même. Saint Paul fait certainement allusion à cette parole de l'ange dans Romains 8.32. Le sacrifice de Dieu en Golgotha doit prouver à l'homme ce que celui d'Abraham a prouvé à Dieu : c'est qu'il n'y a rien que Dieu n'ait la volonté et le pouvoir de lui donner.
