Le troisième jour. Dieu le fait aller bien loin et marcher bien longtemps aux côtés de celui qu'il a mission d'immoler. Le vrai sacrifice ne doit pas être l'effet d'une exaltation momentanée ; c'est là la différence entre le faux et le vrai dévouement. Celui-là est un feu factice qui s'éteint dès que l'épreuve se prolonge, celui-ci jette une flamme moins vive, mais plus durable.

Vit le lieu de loin. Ce fut à ce moment sans doute que Dieu indiqua exactement le lieu choisi par lui.
