Elles ne demandent rien, elles se bornent à faire connaître à Jésus la maladie de leur frère, qui les remplit d'inquiétude, bien convaincues que ce mot de tendre affection : celui que tu aimes, suffira pour amener le Sauveur à leur secours. En effet, Jésus, en parlant de Lazare, ratifiera cette expression de son attachement pour lui. (verset 11)
