Jérémie 11.16

L’Eternel t’appelait : « Olivier verdoyant orné de fruits superbes ». Cependant, maintenant, au bruit d’un grand fracas, il y mettra le feu et ses rameaux seront brisés.

World English Bible Yahweh called your name, A green olive tree, beautiful with goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he has kindled fire on it, and its branches are broken.

Orné de beaux fruits : l'olivier n'est beau que par ses fruits.

Le nom que l'Eternel t'avait donné. Le nom exprime dans l'Ecriture l'idée que doit réaliser l'être qui le reçoit.

Au bruit d'un grand fracas. L'image est celle d'un coup de foudre qui, éclatant avec fracas, brise et allume l'arbre. Dans la réalité, ce sera l'invasion ennemie.
