Un agneau familier (domestique), tel que les Arabes en gardent encore, et qui est comme un membre de la famille. Le même usage existait chez les Hébreux. Comparez 2Samuel 12.3. Un être aussi inoffensif que Jérémie ne devait pas s'attendre à exciter tant de haines. Mais la vérité, dure à entendre, est par là même dangereuse à dire.

L'arbre avec son fruit : le prophète avec sa parole importune. Ils comptent anéantir jusqu'au souvenir du nom du prophète. Dieu s'est plu à infliger à ceux qui parlaient ainsi un éclatant démenti !
