J'Ă©tais comme un agneau confiant qu'on conduit Ă  l’abattoir, j'ignorais les projets qu'ils avaient formĂ©s contre moi : ‘DĂ©truisons l'arbre avec son fruit ! Supprimons-le de la terre des vivants et qu'on ne se souvienne plus de son nom !’
Moi, j’étais comme un agneau docile qu’on mĂšne Ă  l’abattoir, sans me douter qu’ils projetaient quelque chose contre moi. Ils disaient : « DĂ©truisons l’arbre en pleine force, supprimons-le du monde des vivants, et que personne ne se souvienne qu’il a existé ! »

World English Bible But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I didn't know that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

Un agneau familier (domestique), tel que les Arabes en gardent encore, et qui est comme un membre de la famille. Le mĂȘme usage existait chez les HĂ©breux. Comparez 2Samuel 12.3. Un ĂȘtre aussi inoffensif que JĂ©rĂ©mie ne devait pas s'attendre Ă  exciter tant de haines. Mais la vĂ©ritĂ©, dure Ă  entendre, est par lĂ  mĂȘme dangereuse Ă  dire.

L'arbre avec son fruit : le prophÚte avec sa parole importune. Ils comptent anéantir jusqu'au souvenir du nom du prophÚte. Dieu s'est plu à infliger à ceux qui parlaient ainsi un éclatant démenti !
