Et si ces anciens séducteurs d'Israël, qui l'entraînaient à l'idolâtrie, se convertissent et adoptent sa foi, ils deviendront ses hôtes et, incorporés au peuple de Dieu, ils habiteront avec lui la Terre Sainte agrandie. C'est là la revanche que Dieu promet à son peuple. De pareils passages peuvent servir de réponse à ceux qui imputent à l'Ancien Testament un particularisme étroit et exclusif.
