Jérémie 13.22

Que si tu dis en ton coeur : pourquoi me sont arrivées ces choses ? C'est pour la grandeur de ton iniquité que tes habits ont été retroussés, [et] que tes talons ont été serrés de près.

Les pans de ta robe... : ignominie infligée aux captives, et même sans doute à celles du plus haut rang. Comparez Nahum 3.5 ; Esaïe 47.3.

Les talons meurtris. On peut appliquer cette expression soit aux entraves mises aux pieds, soit aux fatigues d'une longue marche faite pieds nus, soit enfin au supplice de la bastonnade sur les talons, qui est encore usité en Orient.
