Kittim, l'ile de Chypre (où se trouvait à l'époque romaine la ville de Cittium).

Kédar, nom d'un descendant d'Ismaël, dont la tribu habitait le désert qui s'étend entre l'Arabie Pétrée et la Bablonie. Kittim et Kédar désignent ici, par extension, l'une la Grèce et l'Occident, l'autre l'Arabie et l'Orient.
