Ma parole est un feu..., un marteau : selon plusieurs : pour éprouver cette œuvre de mensonge et pour la réduire à néant. Ou bien ces mots expriment simplement la toute-puissance de la parole de Dieu pour accomplir son œuvre, en opposition à l'impuissance de la parole des faux prophètes (verset 16).
