Jérémie 26.16

Les ministres et tout le peuple dirent aux sacrificateurs et aux prophètes : Point de peine capitale pour cet homme ! Car c’est au nom de l’Éternel, notre Dieu, qu’il nous a parlé.

Quand Dieu menace les pécheurs invétérés, de les priver de Son Esprit et de Son Royaume, Il le fait conformément à Sa Parole annoncée.

Ézéchias, qui protégea Michée, prospéra. Est-ce que Jehoïakim, celui qui tua Urie, reçut la même bénédiction qu'Ézéchias ? Les exemples des méchants, avec les conséquences funestes de leurs péchés, devraient décourager ceux qui seraient tentés de pratiquer le mal. Urie, par le message qu'il transmit, restait fidèle à l'Éternel ; par contre il commit une faute en fuyant en Égypte, délaissant ainsi sa tâche. Il plut à Dieu de laisser ses adversaires lui ôter la vie, alors que Jérémie était protégé de tout danger.

Ceux qui font confiance au Seigneur, en toute simplicité, se trouvent parfaitement en sécurité, quelles que soient les circonstances qu'ils peuvent rencontrer ; Celui qui tient en Ses mains le cœur des hommes, nous encourage à Lui faire une entière confiance dans l'exercice de notre devoir. Il honorera et récompensera ceux soutiennent Ses serviteurs persécutés, à cause de Son Nom.
