Ces paroles (comparez Matthieu 3.7) sont évidemment une application de celles qui précèdent.

Vous ne pouvez pas, à moins d'un changement total de votre cœur, penser et dire de bonnes choses, pas plus que le mauvais arbre ne peut porter de bons fruits ; car la parole, comme la vie n'est que la révélation de ce qui rempli le cœur. Là est la source du mal, là aussi doit avoir lieu la régénération.
