ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ νεανίσκος τὸν λόγον ἀπῆλθεν λυπούμενος, ἦν γὰρ ἔχων κτήματα πολλά.

S'il s'en va tout triste, c'est qu'il a découvert qu'il manquait de volonté et de force pour faire le sacrifice d'une idole. Il a eu à choisir entre cette idole et Jésus entre ses biens et la vie éternelle, et son choix est fait, malgré sa meilleure conviction. De là sa tristesse. Deviendra-t-elle une "tristesse à salut ?" Nous l'ignorons !
