Votre maison ne signifie pas seulement le temple, comme l'ont pensé Calvin et d'autres, mais Jérusalem, capitale de toute la théocratie.

Cette demeure, favorisée par l'offre de tant de grâces de Dieu et par la présence du Sauveur, sera laissée déserte, vide, dévastée, désolée, comme toute ville, toute maison, toute âme d'où Dieu s'est retiré.

Lachmann, Westcott et Hort, suivant B, et quelques autres témoignages, omettent le mot déserte.
